Different light

My hair steadily fades to grey, beard bleached in the light, each follicle falling prey to years of conditioning — the irony of life in hindsight, wisdom is a neutral shade without transparency…

The ancient eavesdropper

My head hurts,
eyes burnt after
staring down
the sun,
but there was
a different light
I could only find
blinded
by wisdom.
