Weekly Photo Challenge: Resilient

A brilliant sky foreshadows the resilient nature of a burned forest in Pattee Canyon near Missoula, Montana.  Best wishes to my WordPress family in 2017!

  4. Fire is a necessity for healthy forests. May 2017 be a year filled with blessings for you and yours, Tyler.

    • Thank you kindly, my friend! I appreciate the follow as well. Agree 100% The cones of Lodgepole pines will only open & propagate their seeds in the presence of fire. It’s sad that many of the forests in the west are being devastated by beetle kill…the lack of water means trees like Ponderosa & lodgepole pine can’t pitch out as much and keep the beetles from boring into the bark & spreading the fungus. Also, with global warming, the beetles can have as many as 2-3 hatches per year with milder temps, causing a population explosion. Where fires do not effect homes, it’s a good idea to let forests burn to rejuvenate soils, propagate seeds (as with lodgepole) & thin stands to improve growing conditions (and decrease the chance of future large, catastrophic fires that burn too hot & deep). I wish you & your family all the best in 2017! Cheers to leaving this planet in better shape for our children & grandchildren 🙂

    • Thank you kindly, my friend! My wife & I look forward to the adventures of parenthood..it will have its ups & downs for sure, but totally worth the effort! We couldn’t be happier bringing a new life into this world & helping her grow & develop. So much to be thankful for 🙂 I wish you & your family all the best in 2017!
      Cheers,

Perhaps we’ll be as resilient as this forest? 🌲 Praying all goes well with your imminent newest family member!

    • Yes, indeed! Thank you kindly, my friend! Parenthood is going to be an adventure to remember…it will certainly have its ups & downs, but totally worth the effort! My wife’s due date is Jan 23rd, although we’re feeling like the baby will be born early. She’s full term now (37 weeks) & my wife feels like she’s about ready to bust out (Willow is one week ahead in growth!). Can’t wait to meet her & hold her in my arms 🙂 I wish you & yours all the best in 2017, Elouise!
      Cheers,
      Tyler 🙂
