Not subject to scale

The ancient eavesdropper

imageWe think
ourselves
complete,
so unique,
so one
in a million,
but we shrink
to ants from
a giant’s stance –
will you look
up as you pass?
Do you notice
the greatness
of being a part
of something
bigger,
how our
depth
is deeper
beneath
the surface,
the reaches of
our souls
not subject
to scale?
Whoever
walks
the trails
alone
returns
home
whole.

We are but minuscule amoeba in the vast pond of life. Nicely done Tyler😇

The last line of your poem is very true for me. I may not return from the trail completely whole each time; but each trail walked not alone, but with the creator of nature’s beauty helps me to heal. I believe there is no limit to the scale ( height nor depth; vastness nor diminutiveness) of the human soul.
