Brainstorm

The ancient eavesdropper

Struck by
a thought,
I heard the
silent thunder clap
from my brainstorm.
As a rumble of
words neared,
I drew poetic
courage.

  1. Tyler,
I enjoyed this one particularly. As a writer, I too often conjure up a poem related to writing. Here’s one which was published about three years ago.

    Clue

    Shunning the danger of
    discovering the culprit,
    Mr. Editor in his study
    examines a body of work.

    He stabs the pages
    wrenching his pen at
    words that were bludgeoned
    ‘til they fell into
    sentences tied up into
    paragraphs shot through with
    clarity, soul and wit.

    The mystery solved, he
    lounges at his desk,
    pondering how green
    this author can be:
    Miss Writer,
    at her keyboard,
    with a muse.
