Murmurs and frames

Birdsong
flowing effortlessly
into my ears.

From the forest
murmurs of trees
exhaling life.

I opened the door
and let you in
housefly.

Trees
stand
still —
their
leaves
pause —
under
an
unwavering
sun.

Adding its voice
to the morning chorus
outspoken heron.

Throwing the bird out
with the bath water
our cat the hunter.

These days of eternal light
illuminating all the joyous
occasions in my life.

Blinking his eyes
he took a mental picture
framing poems.
