Timeless poetic abyss

Delicious crescent
sliver of white icing
Oreo moon.

I walk outside
and step into a cave
painted with stars.

Giant firs
stretch their spires
towards the night sky
soaking up starlight.

A universe of blank verse
punctuated by comets & stars
I peer up & pause to applaud
the timeless poetic abyss.

I close
my eyes
and see
words free falling
like meteors
through darkness
the landscape
of each sentence.

Glad you stumbled upon my little crazy blog, you´re certainly a very talented writer. Another good writer I can read and learn from, some people say learn I really just steal structure and words…..

So if you don´t mind I´ll stick around see if it rubs off on me

  7. These images are so clear and poignant, Tyler 😉 I love your universe of blank verse. What a lovely poem I wish I had been able to share with my English students back in the day! Thank you for this 😉 Elizabeth

    • Thank you, Elizabeth! You are so kind and thoughtful 😀 It’s my pleasure! The irony of the first haiku is that I can’t eat Oreos anymore…I just had a visual of twisting an Oreo and eating the icing…my teeth marks leaving a sliver reminiscent of a crescent moon. Happy New Year to you and your family! All the best in 2015!
