Cloudy pillows


Trees rest their
weary canopies
on a pile of
cloudy pillows —
leaves swinging
like hammocks
in the breeze.

  3. Ever hear the term buttermilk skies, Tyler? That’s what the clouds remind me of. There was/is even an old song from the 1930s (or earlier) by that title. Enjoyed the poem and its images. –Curt

    There is a proverb about this kind of sky in Spain. It says something like “pebbled sky, assured rain”.
