Shedding this human skin

The ancient eavesdropper

I am the poet
who shed his
human skin
to reveal
reptilian
wisdom;
the worm
who crawled out
of its cave
in the pouring
rain to gain
fresh perspective;
the tree
trunk & root
who felt the
wet earth,
hollow
filled
with
wondrous
worth,
limbs signing
skyward messages,
celebrating
& inspiring
an unspoken
co-existence.
