    What a terrific use of figurative language. If you don’t mind, I’m going to share this with the creative writing class I teach (giving you full credit, of course). It’s such a perfect example of what I want them to learn to do.

    • Thank you kindly, Sandra! Yes, go right ahead. I am humbled by your praise. If it weren’t for teachers like you, I wouldn’t be the poet I am today. I give all the credit to my Junior High School Honors English teacher…she taught me how to use active voice and avoid dreaded ‘to be’ verbs.
