The wildfire in our eyes

The ancient eavesdropper

Wildfire in your eyes

A plethora
of autumn
foliage sparks
warm colors
that feed
the wildfire
in our eyes,
igniting
blue skies,
circling
sidewalks &
rooftops,
flickering
& fading
into the dead
of winter,
countless
crispy
corpses
covering
earth,
crackling
underfoot.
