Nostalgia, naturally

The ancient eavesdropper

Nostalgia, naturally

Water
tumbles
splashes
& cascades
into the open arms
of heavy stone
floating above the surface
catching onto rapids
that form a pearly lather
flowing down the stream
boulder to boulder
under & over
swirling & subsiding
across miles of refined silt
gauging into the earth
molding mountains
& river bottoms
landing in the ocean
recycled when it rains
falling onto umbrellas
collected in puddles
& stomped on by
a child’s foot.
