Second wind

Here’s an older poem from the archives with a positive message of hope and patience. Take nothing for granted in life and give each day your all, accept responsibility for your actions, learn lessons when mistaken and remember to move on and let go…

The ancient eavesdropper

Enduring the unfulfilled silences

when answers hung in the balance

and yet no fruit dropped from the fertile sky

to spread seeds of wisdom far and wide.

Countless untold secrets lie dormant all around

waiting for the catalyst to germinate a single sprout,

till the soil, sow potential and tease out meaning

where once barren ground toiled in famine.

Feast on the growth that awaits the hopeful –

those castaways robbed of time but not purpose,

now basking in the glow of their own deliverance.

They need not fortune or luck, but the second wind

of trust to cope.
