    • Thank you, my friend! I haven’t seen any snapping turtles in Oregon, but I did wrestle with these ancient giants when I worked in Illinois. It’s surprising how fast their necks can snap back and tag you with their jaws. I haven’t been bitten before, but they certainly keep you on your toes! I’ve been surveying for Western Painted turtles and Western Pond turtles, two native species around the Willamette Valley. I hope you had a lovely day!

        Thank you so much. I have been young to soak up my last few days with my boys. Jordan leaves for college next week. Hard to believe. And almost 6 hours away. Ouch.

        I am trying to get caught up with blogs – gee aren’t I always saying that?? Just wait till you have homo sapien children;).
