Heart headlock

This heart
has my brain
in an eternal
headlock,
hammering
home licks
on my
xylophone
ribs,
kicking
my lungs
so they feel
every breath.

  1. Good poem to read. I wrote a poem entitled “Memo to a Cardiologist” that attempted to describe arrhythmias in musical terms. And thanks so much for following my poetry blog. I am returning the favor!

    • Thank you, Cynthia! You have a wonderful, inspiring blog and a very evocative writing style. Keep up the excellent work. Not a day of rest for us creative spirits, but who can blame us, we have a timeless relationship with our muse & a wellspring of words!
      Cheers,
      Tyler 🙂
