Poetry at goalie

Get outside in Nature and kick around some ideas…

The ancient eavesdropper

I go for a run,

it’s sunny in the upper seventies,

my stride slices across fresh greens

atop the soccer field so

effortlessly effervescent,

after four miles, my pace sputters,

shoes tongue tied, in my sunglasses glare

I spy sparrows scattering out of bounds,

my lips now dry sprinkler heads

kicking around one last sentence,

what infinite scoring possibilities

with poetry at goalie.

  1. Tyler dear you lost me today at “I go for a run”… Saturday morning is my “I sit and drink entirely too much coffee” time 🙂

    • Very funny, Melanie! It’s the weekend. I wouldn’t expect anything less from a human bean! Relax and tip back a few shots of joe for me, my friend 🙂
      Cheers,
      Tyler

  2. Good for the body, soul and mind.
