Missing the big picture

Missing the big picture

Atop
the tree,
I spy a
red-winged
blackbird
who sees
what I’m
missing.

You never know – he/she may be looking at the top of your head – to peck!!! I have been a victim of the red winged blackbird while biking. The are very much like my Pee – very possessive:)

    • Thank you for reminding me, Kim! I have spent many mornings with angry momma red-winged blackbirds dive-bombing into my head as I crashed through the cattails tracking turtles in Illinois. While they are beautiful creatures, they can be most annoying, almost like a car alarm that won’t shut up! Hope you are having a good day, my friend 🙂
      Cheers,
      Tyler

  2. So true, Tyler! On a hike in NM recently, I said to my husband, “I don’t understand how anyone could not like to be out in nature.” They don’t “see” what is all around them….the growth, the life, the textures, the colors, the stillness, the survival and SO much more. I am fascinated by it and comforted by it at the same time.

    • Thank you for your wonderful comment! It seems we share a common bond of hiking and exploring Nature with our loved ones. I agree with you. I always take comfort in wide open spaces and cultivate a love that embraces each moment and furthers the wellbeing of my corner of the world. Hope you had a relaxing Memorial Day weekend, my friend!
      Cheers,
      Tyler 🙂

I’m off to the forest again. What a view it must be for a bird perched atop a tree on Marys Peak! Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

  8. Ever considered taking flying lessons at LCC? So much to see from high up. Puts things into perspective.
