Cool patience

I hope you are all breaking free of winter and gamboling in springtime weather! If spring is behind schedule, keep your cool and think warm thoughts, as the sun creeps closer and closer towards summer solstice…

The ancient eavesdropper

The once opaque sky,
now cleaned by dawn’s light,
uncovers a vast blue ceiling on high.
Below, frost recoils as dew dripping
down lush growth while heavy wisps
of fog scatter from rivers and forest groves.
Sleepy denizens exit their warm beds
to pursue dreams their subconscious bled –
they peer out the window with distant anticipation.
All along, a cool patience builds in winter’s rut
that moans and groans, before, in spring,
it breaks free the rust.
