Happy Birthday, Grandma!

Happy Birthday, Grandma!

My Grandma, pictured in the pink shirt at the right, is celebrating her birthday today! Happy Birthday, Grandma! Out of respect for a woman’s sensitivity, I will not disclose her age. Suffice it to say, she is still healthy, happy, funny, smart and spry! How ironic that Earth Day is the day after her birth – they both have cared for me with the same affection and tough love. I would be nowhere without her and my grandfather’s compassionate and generous spirits.

At the left, my Aunt is holding up her new grandson, who also will be celebrating his first birthday on April 23rd! My cousin and his wife have done an amazing job raising their new boy and he is a joy to be around, as you can see by the smile on my face.

I hope you are all having a wonderful Friday and wish you and your family a wealth of birthdays and warm memories for many years to come!

  1. That’s so nice. We recently celebrated Alex’s Grandads 90th birthday! To be so wise!
Love the beard by the way!

    • Thank you, Jennifer! Yes, the beard makes me look older than I really am. I’m trying to retain my youthful masculinity for as long as I can since my dad and grandpa went bald! Funny you should mention 90th birthdays. I recently flew to Montana one month ago to celebrate my Grandfather’s 90th birthday as well! He must have received 60-70 cards from family, former friends and athletes he coached. We sat around him as he opened each card, reminiscing and telling old stories about his life as if time stood still. It was a mesmerizing moment of pure joy that I will never forget as long as I live. Congrats to your husband’s Grandpa on celebrating what I can only assume was a rich, love-filled legacy. Hope you are having a wonderful Friday and have a relaxing weekend!
