Mid-morning
meandering
in the mountains
with my dad,
rubbing shoulders
with upstanding noble fir,
snapping photos
of lichens cast as
streamers onto bark,
celebrating symbiosis,
summiting snow-covered
and misty Mary’s Peak,
the highest point
on the Oregon Coast
at 4100 feet,
(nothing to
write home about
for us Montanans)
yet, the accompanied
journey
always trumps
the destination’s elevation!
What a lovely meander! Would seem like hard work to me but I live on the plains.
Thank you! Yes, it was a little climb, but well worth the effort. Never a bad day in the woods!
