Nobody saw the clouds

Nobody saw the clouds,
they were too busy
looking at the ground,
where shadows lay,
cast in hidden corners,
mixing with the dirt,
becoming part of the mountain:
the sky our ladder back to earth.

This is a photo of Mt. Jumbo in Missoula, Montana…..Big Sky Country.

  2. What a beautiful poem. I had to read it a few times to get the full richness. The first three lines made me laugh out loud, and the last line – so beautiful and so wise. Here, in the Highlands of Scotland we get some amazing clouds too…

    • Thank you, Harula! Your kind words are much appreciated! My heart will forever be tied to the mountains of Montana and the cloudy ceiling of Big Sky Country. This panorama is my home on the range! Glad you have similar cumulus inspiration in your native Scotland 🙂

Beautiful sky picture! Seems like the sky has a different picture every day — I have always loved looking skyward.
